BIOGRAPHY
providing fine blended irish folk music for every kind of taste
The musical project Patricks was born in 2012, with the desire to enable Italian audiences experience a genuine taste of Ireland.
Inspired by almost any other band that has anything to do with the term “Irish”, from the more traditional High Kings to the rock of Flogging Molly, Patricks brings to the stage what Irish music represents to them: stories of life, conviviality, light- heartedness and good cheer.
Fiddle, Irish whistles, banjo, guitar, drums, male and female vocals: an intoxicating mix of sound and energy that immerses you fully in traditional Irish music, but with a modern twist.
A versatile but certainly not ordinary band, the current line up being established in 2015, Patricks has performed all over Italy, bringing its infectious energy to the stages of great festivals, as well as warmth and joy to intimate pubs.
The group has played at Triskell Celtic Festival, Brintaal Celtic Folk Festival, Irlanda in Festa, Saint Patrick’s Day in Verona, and has also opened for renowned international artists, such as the singer Cisco (former member of Modena City Ramblers), the Irish band Goitse (awarded “Trad Group of the Year 2015”), and The Sidh.
Buoyed by the success of their live performances, the five musicians transformed more than a year’s hard work into their first studio album: “Tales from Irish Waves” was recorded at the Bass Department Studio and released in June 2016.
In February 2020, thanks to collaborating with producer Max Titi, “Rocky Road To Ireland”, the second album, was released on the Maxy Sound label.
In 2021 and 2022, the singles “Carol of the Bells” and “Step It Out Mary” were released respectively, both again on Maxy Sound.
Whether on stage or in the studio, Patricks know what they want: to have enormous fun serving a drop of Ireland to their audience, making them jump up and dance!
